Our ingredients

To make our food, for a 12 kg bag, 10.6 kg of meat is dehydrated so that it can be better incorporated into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from freely raised and grass-fed buffalo. Known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, buffalo meat is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetable

To provide the dog with additional valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, giving the dog all the essential, natural antioxidants. So fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweeds, among others, traces its origins back thousands of years. These ingredients support natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Nettle

Stinging nettle is a plant genus of which the large nettle and the small nettle are found in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood purifying properties. According to various sources nettle is bactericidal and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also suitable for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports the functioning of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. In addition, it works to support the dog's bladder and hair growth.

Nettle also contains silica, or silicon. This is a building material that is part of connective tissue in bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair and nails, among other things. Silicon supports the natural production of skin (cells) and helps maintain healthy skin.

At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints in relation to the dog's coat, skin and bones, as well as for the purpose of preventing digestive and/or urinary problems.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical areas where temperatures do not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana is thought to have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word Obanaana from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals. Including vitamins A, C and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can boost resistance. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and can contribute to a properly functioning nervous system. Also, it can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, banana contains a lot of good fiber and provides more good bacteria in the intestines.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, from which grow the hand apples commonly known especially in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fiber has a versatile action in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making stools soft and flexible. Also, dietary fiber increases volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates the functioning of the intestines, but also ensures thorough elimination of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that helps support healthy intestinal flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Pup, adult or senior?

Om je te helpen bij het maken van de juiste keuze tussen onze varianten Amerikaanse akita hondenvoer kun je gebruik maken van de volgende richtlijnen. Is jouw Amerikaanse akita jonger dan 11 maanden, kies dan voor de Puppy variant. Voor een Amerikaanse akita ouder dan 7 jaar adviseren we de Yourdog Amerikaanse akita senior. Is jouw hond ouder dan 11 maanden en jonger dan 7 jaar, dan kun je de Adult variant kiezen.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

Stap je over op Yourdog vanaf een ander voermerk dan adviseren wij de volgende stappen te volgen. Voor de eerste stap voer je 25% Yourdog en 75% van het oude hondenvoer. De hond kan hier gedurende twee dagen aan wennen. Vervolgens voer je 50% Yourdog en 50% van het oude hondenvoer. Het is belangrijk dat je de hond ook hier weer twee of drie dagen aan laat wennen. Daarna meng je 75% Yourdog en 25% van het oude hondenvoer. De hond is nu bijna helemaal over op Yourdog. Doe dit gedurende 2 dagen. Naar eigen inzicht kun je hierna 100% Yourdog Amerikaanse akita hondenvoer gaan voeren.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but put it in the barrel with the whole bag, which you reseal as best you can.
